1. Texas grabs its first double-digit victory in Big 12 play in five games

The roaring start that Texas basketball got off to in Big 12 play this season slowed to a halt starting against Oklahoma State on the road. That loss to Oklahoma State kicked off a detrimental three-game losing streak for the Horns that saw some highs and lows that defined this team under Smart in 2018-19.

The start to Big 12 play for TCU wasn’t too good either. Texas and TCU sit in a similar spot in the Big 12 standings. This is a good chance for the Horns to prove that it belongs in the top five in the Big 12 this season. The inconsistencies so far proved to be too much to put the Horns as a solidified top five team in the Big 12.

Yet, beating TCU and Oklahoma in back-to-back conference matchups would put the Horns back in position to have a winning effort in Big 12 play and get them to a 12-7 record on the season. This would also be one of the bigger upsets for the Horns this season by notching a big win over a quality team on the road.

The motivation levels obviously should be high for the Horns. The execution on the court for the second straight game is key to winning away from the Frank Erwin Events Center. And, if the Horns were to lose this game it would be the first time this season that it lost four out of five games and didn’t establish a streak after its first win to break a losing skid.
