Is there anything that this 2019 Texas football recruiting class can do to leap up in the national rankings before National Signing Day?

The Texas football recruiting class for 2019 is about to come to an end in terms of hauling in prospects and getting each to sign their National Letter of Intent. National Signing Day is right around the corner, beginning on Feb. 6, to see how this 2019 Texas football recruiting class is able to close things out.

At this point, the 2019 Texas football recruiting class holds the No. 8 spot in the national class rankings, per 247Sports Team Composite Rankings. Texas football also holds the second slot in the Big 12 recruiting class rankings for the 2019 cycle. The Oklahoma Sooners are still the only Big 12 team ahead of Texas football.

This is an opportunity for Texas football to lock up its second consecutive recruiting class that’s ranked inside the top 10 in the nation. Last year, the Horns did rake in the nation’s No. 3 ranked class but that doesn’t seem realistic at this point. There’s very little chance for the Horns to even crack the top five rankings in the nation at this point in the recruiting cycle.

What this class does brings for the Texas football program heading into the 2019 off-season is a very well-rounded group that includes a bulk of signees that can contribute immediately. There’s a good argument that can be set for this class bringing a more well-rounded skill set than the 2018 class.

Here’s a look at the five bold predictions for the Texas Longhorns leading up to, and including, National Signing Day for the 2019 recruiting cycle.
