5. Lakia Henry picks Texas, and signs

Potentially the biggest target left for this 2019 Texas football recruiting class, that actually has a realistic shot at landing on the Forty Acres, is the nation’s top JUCO inside linebacker for this cycle. Four-star Dodge City C.C. inside linebacker Lakia Henry is a highly sought after recruiting target following his decommitment from the Tennessee Volunteers earlier this month.

Texas football is hosting Henry on a visit to the Forty Acres on the first weekend of February. Henry is making an official visit on Feb. 1. The only official visit he has scheduled before then is with the Ole Miss Rebels, which is set for Jan. 26. Texas and Ole Miss are two of the bigger players to watch for his final commitment decision.

The other program that Henry is likely to boil his final commitment decision down to is the Arkansas Razorbacks. Head coach Chad Morris is doing a great job for the Razorbacks on the recruiting trail for his 2019 class lately. Morris already pried one Texas target away this month, by landing four-star safety Jalen Catalon.

However, linebacker is still one of the bigger looming needs in this class for the Horns so Henry could come in and make that immediate impact he’s capable of. What departing Texas linebacker, and former Dodge City C.C. standout, Gary Johnson was able to do the last two years for this front seven has to appeal to Henry big time.
