Texas Football: 3 2019 OL Horns transfer targets
The former Tennessee Volunteers highly touted recruit from the 2015 cycle looks to be on the move this off-season. Head coach Jeremy Pruitt and Tennessee football had to be pretty shocked when one of its better and more experienced offensive linemen had his name put on the transfer market.
Rising senior offensive tackle Drew Richmond was the nation’s third best 2015 high school prospect at his position. He was also rated as the second best prospect out of the state of Tennessee and a top 60 high school prospect in the nation overall. The talent factor is no question with him, but he’ll be pursued by a ton of big time programs.
Rivals mentioned Texas football as one of the potential landing spots for Richmond this off-season, among a few other blue bloods. Oklahoma and Alabama were also mentioned among his potential transfer destinations. But, Texas football does make a lot of sense for Richmond for what is likely the final year of his collegiate career.
Tennessee is going to sweat this loss along the offensive line in 2019, but someone is going to reap some massive rewards. Richmond is the type of lineman that has a bright NFL future and could really help take this Texas offensive line to the next level this coming season. He’s a big fish for Herman and the Horns to target.
