Some of the most shocking news to come about this off-season involved former USC signee Bru McCoy reportedly joining the Texas football program.

The transfer market was something that mostly brought negative rumors and news in relation to the Texas football program. The NCAA Transfer Portal is in its first year and is bringing a lot of things to the college football landscape, and Texas football program. That we’ve never seen before. Witnessing three players intend to depart the Texas football quarterback room all within about a month’s time and losing a growing list of running backs is something no one wants.

However, the NCAA Transfer Portal brought Texas football a gift that no one saw coming, on Jan. 24, that will have an immense impact on the program and the college football world. For the first time this off-season a 2019 high school prospect that signed and enrolled early put his name in the transfer portal before even suiting up for spring camp.

This player that is shaking the college football world to its very core right now is the former USC Trojans five-star athlete signee and early enrollee Bru McCoy. USC had some trouble retaining current players and recruiting commits of late, but nothing compared to this.

The culmination of the coaching instability under third-year head coach Clay Helton and former offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury along with the letdown of a 2018 season seems to have forced some players out of USC. There’s a lot going wrong with the Trojans at this moment.
