This offensive line class for the 2019 NFL Draft still has some time left before the picture shakes out as to who the top prospects are. At the top of most draft boards for offensive linemen are names like Kansas State’s Dalton Risner, Florida’s Martez Ivey, Wisconsin’s David Edwards, and Alabama’s Jonah Williams.

Drafttek doesn’t have too many offensive linemen projected to fall in the first round of this NFL Draft in general. But, it does have the former Rice Owls graduate transfer left tackle Calvin Anderson listed among the top 20 prospects at his position. That gives Anderson a very fair shot at being a mid-to-late round selection.

This 6-foot-5 and 300 pound lineman has enough foot speed and strength to get a shot to hold a key role for an NFL O-Line. The biggest question marks looming for Anderson mainly encircle his ability to get a push up field and to hang against NFL-level pass rushers. According to 247Sports, Anderson did “make a positive first step” to achieving his NFL goal entering the off-season.

Much like what Nelson and Beck showed in the Shrine Game, Anderson showed out in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl as needed to win over some attention from NFL Scouts. He addressed many of the concerns that scouting reports like that of The Draft Network had for Anderson, including his flexibility and versatility along the offensive line.

Verdict: Stock Up
