The Senior Bowl showing for former Texas football senior cornerback Kris Boyd wasn’t as good as he had to be hoping for. Boyd had some question marks that went unanswered during workouts and in the Senior Bowl. A solid wide receiver class in the Senior Bowl did muddy the waters for the analysis for cornerbacks last week, though.

Boyd certainly didn’t help his cause too much in the Senior Bowl. A player with so much potential and intrigue like Boyd needs to prove some type of consistency at some point before April. He had such an up and down career with the Horns that there’s not enough proof from his college film that he is clearly worth an early round selection.

Moreover, both of the former starting corners for the Texas secondary are intriguing prospects for the 2019 NFL Draft. The sizable 6-foot-3 and 210 pound Davante Davis brings some level of appeal due to his physical tools and aggressive nature. Draft Scout ranks Davis as the No. 49 corner in this draft class, so his chances of getting selected in one of the seven rounds isn’t too good.

The Draft Network listed Boyd as one of the 10 biggest disappointments of Senior Bowl week, which obviously isn’t a great sign for his draft stock. Whether Boyd is able to get it together for the NFL Combine, or continues to generate more questions about his skill set, his floor is pretty much a fourth or fifth round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Verdict: Stock Down
