No one from the Horns could have shown out better in any of the showcase games or workouts this month for the 2019 NFL Draft than the reigning Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year and All-Big 12 honoree defensive end Charles Omenihu. The best pass rusher for the Horns this past season was on a mission in the Senior Bowl.

The Draft Wire listed Omenihu as one of the top performers from the Senior Bowl as he “was in the backfield quite often” including a forced fumble at a key point in the game. He also went toe-to-toe with some of the best offensive line prospects in this year’s Senior Bowl and won out frequently during workouts and drills.

According to 247Sports, Omenihu also had himself a solid week of practice leading up to kick-off for the Senior Bowl. The dynamic pass rushing ability and knack to live in opposing backfields shined for Omenihu this weekend. His breakout 2018 season gave him confidence carrying into the 2019 off-season.

It’s hard to put a figure on what Omenihu did for his 2019 NFL Draft stock in the month of January, but he definitely caught himself more hype. In a very deep group of defensive ends and pass rushers for the 2019 NFL Draft, Omenihu stuck out. At this point, he has to be considered an early day two selection at the very least.

Verdict: Stock Way Up
