The 2022 Texas football recruiting class could be looking to send out its first set of offers soon, possibly to in-state rising RB Isaiah Broadway.

The 2022 recruiting cycle is something that is a ways out from stepping to the forefront for Texas football. With National Signing Day for the 2019 Texas football recruiting class just a few days away, the 2020 cycle is about to become the main focus. Even the 2021 recruiting cycle is gaining significance at this time.

Moreover, the first offer for the 2022 Texas football recruiting class is yet to be sent out. But, that could come soon enough with the action on the recruiting trail heating up within the past few weeks. Some of the more notable skill position recruits emerging for the 2022 cycle and players that could eventually fill a position of need for Texas football are important to jump on early.

A target for the 2022 Texas football recruiting class that is already getting some national attention hails from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. That is a Hebron High School and Carrollton, TX, running back Isaiah Broadway.

The 5-foot-11 and 175 pound in-state prospect Broadway does already have a handful of Power Five schools on his growing offer sheet. He has three offers, including from the Arkansas Razorbacks and Baylor Bears. The other of his three offers might not have much of a shot to get his commitment since it came from the FCS Illinois State Cardinals.

Broadway has also received some looks and could have a gaining interest from two of the more prominent programs in the Big 12, the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. And, FBS programs in the DFW Metroplex could have a growing interest in Broadway as we move closer to the 2022 recruiting cycle like the SMU Mustangs and TCU Horned Frogs.

Since Broadway is just coming off his first-year with the Hebron football program, it could be a while before he starts to get the bulk of the offers from the biggest schools that will look into him. More blue bloods like Texas football will boost his national profile soon. But, this is a fantastic opportunity for head Texas football coach Tom Herman to get in on him early.

It seems like Arkansas head coach Chad Morris saw the chance to get in on this important prospect early in his recruitment. Arkansas was the most recent offer sent to Broadway, coming on Jan. 25.

Even though he’s just entering his sophomore season of high school football, Broadway already showed what he can do on a big stage. In the 2018 high school state playoffs for Division 6A, Broadway showed out deep into the bracket. He has speed that will only continue to impress and the physical nature to run between the tackles.

Some of the skills that Broadway can already put on display this early in his high school football career bodes well for how bright his future could be. There’s a reason why many consider Broadway to be a rising star in the world of Texas football recruiting. He would be very worthy of receiving the first offer for the 2022 recruiting cycle from the Horns.
