A key target of the 2019 Texas football recruiting class that started to slide more toward some SEC programs in recent months is four-star Amite, LA, talented athlete Devonta Lee. For being the nation’s No. 8 2019 high school athlete, Lee had a large offer sheet that included some of the best programs college football has.

Lee had nearly 20 offers, including his from the Horns, but his final decision looks to come down to some programs out of the SEC West. A fairly heavy favorite to nab the pledge of Lee in the big-time in-state program, the LSU Tigers. The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions gives LSU a heavy edge over the Alabama Crimson Tide to land Lee.

Rivals FutureCast and FutureFanCast both also gives the edge to LSU over Alabama. This could be one of a number of prospects on National Signing Day that has a decision that comes down to these to recruiting giants that are Alabama and LSU. That’s nothing new for college football fans on National Signing Day, though.

However, a few of the other significant Big 12 and Texas schools that offered Lee included the Baylor Bears, Oklahoma State Cowboys, and Texas A&M Aggies. Those three schools are effectively eliminated from Lee’s commitment decision tomorrow at 12:45 C.T. in front of a national audience on ESPN2.
