At this point of the recruiting cycle with National Signing Day looming large, potentially the most realistic prospect the Horns could actually haul in that is big time is four-star Dodge City C.C. inside linebacker Lakia Henry. The nation’s top JUCO linebacker is a former commit of the Tennessee Volunteers, but will be deciding between a few other programs.

It appears as if the only two programs that will be included in Henry’s final commitment and signing decision outside of the SEC are the Horns and the UCLA Bruins. A few other key programs to watch include the Arkansas Razorbacks, Ole Miss, and Auburn. The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions and Rivals FutureCast for Henry both gives the edge to Arkansas.

However, Henry isn’t included on the list of scheduled commits officially for National Signing Day tomorrow. The decision from Henry will have to come largely by surprise, in terms of timing, on National Signing Day. An Arkansas blog had the announcement and signing team of Henry set at noon C.T., but that is nothing that has backing yet.

If Texas does lose the commitment of Henry, it would hurt but it is something the depth in this recruiting class could recover from. This 2019 recruiting class for the Horns has four signees at linebacker already heading into National Signing Day 2019. Henry would be a valuable fifth, but there is no guarantee that will happen.
