1. Pipeline to the NFL

For the past two NFL Drafts, the Texas football program churned out a ton of talent that was ready to compete at the next level. In the 2018 NFL Draft, Jefferson was a third round selection of the Cincinnati Bengals while a few other former Horns were snubbed and went undrafted.

The 2019 NFL Draft also has a host of front seven talent from Texas ready to get selected at some point during the three days of action including Gary Johnson and defensive end Charles Omenihu.

Thanks to some pre-NFL Combine trouble for former Texas cornerback Holton Hill, a potent prospect wound up going undrafted to the Minnesota Vikings. The Seattle Seahawks also got a steal of an undrafted rookie with former Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year defensive tackle Poona Ford.

However, the point here is that Henry could soon be finding himself in a situation that is very conducive for funneling JUCO talent to the NFL in the span of just a few years. Johnson was a great example of that, and a model for what Henry can become with the Horns.

What better situation could Henry find himself in for the 2019 season than filling the void left by Johnson, a fellow former Dodge City C.C. standout linebacker. Henry could be a starter for Herman and Orlando for two years before taking his talents to the NFL in all likelihood.
