What were the best parts about this 2019 signing class for Texas football as we enter recap mode immediately following National Signing Day?

With the 2019 Texas football recruiting class signed and locked away after Feb. 6, we can officially take time to reflect at what transpired over the course of the entire cycle. The 2019 Texas football recruiting class raked in enough talent that the rise back to national prominence on the Forty Acres looks to only continue. This is the type of recruiting class that allows programs to contend for national titles down the road.

Only the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide had higher ranked 2019 recruiting classes than Texas football, which is similar to how the 2018 cycle transpired. The difference, quite obviously, between Alabama and Georgia and Texas football was the consistent ability to contend for the College Football Playoff since it started back in 2014. Granted, Georgia isn’t on the same level as Alabama in that regard.

If Texas football sticks around these types of programs on the recruiting trail for the 2020 and 2021 cycles, a national title, shouldn’t be too far out. If nothing else, there should be at least a College Football Playoff appearance or two on the horizon. These recruiting successes should also equate to some big opportunities for a Big 12 Title starting this coming season.

Texas football also finished the 2019 recruiting cycle with the Big 12’s top class, ranked just ahead of the Oklahoma Sooners. Although, Oklahoma does have the early edge on Texas in the 2020 national class rankings.

Here’s a look at the official 2019 recruiting class superlatives following National Signing Day for the Texas Longhorns.
