Getting past the top team in the Big 12 standings at this moment, the Kansas State Wildcats, involves Texas basketball getting in a good scoring rhythm.

To continue its roll in Big 12 play of late, Texas basketball can rake in a huge victory over the top team in the standings, the Kansas State Wildcats. Texas basketball comes into this meeting with Kansas State with a two-game winning streak in hand, and victories in three of the last four. The only loss in the last four games came at the hands of the Iowa State Cyclones on the road.

This is the best streak in Big 12 play for Texas basketball since the very start of conference play in early January. In fact, the Big 12 opener for Texas basketball was a big time 20-point victory over Kansas State in the Little Apple. This time, Texas basketball will get a crack at the Wildcats on the Forty Acres at the Frank Erwin Events Center.

A meeting against Kansas State on Feb. 12 presents the Horns the opportunity to gain a third win over teams ahead of them in the Big 12 standings in the past five games. Texas basketball was also able to knock off the Kansas Jayhawks and Baylor Bears in the past four games. The other of the three wins was also the most recent for the Horns, over the West Virginia Mountaineers last weekend.

Texas basketball comes into this game off that dominant 22-point road victory over West Virginia. Meanwhile, Kansas State enters off a big road win over Baylor. Before that, Kansas State had knocked off the in-state rival Jayhawks at home.

Here’s a look at the five bold predictions for the Texas Longhorns in a home Big 12 showdown against the rolling Kansas State Wildcats.
