A lot of this list is about the coaching staff for Texas football digging deep to find some gems in the transfer portal. So many names are present that either dealt with some difficult injuries, or just couldn’t find the right fit with their first program. A lot of those names are also some of the nation’s top recruits from the past three or four recruiting cycles.

All of this sounds very similar to the situation that fourth-year Florida State Seminoles wide receiver George Campbell finds himself in entering the 2019 off-season. At 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds and with an insane wingspan, Campbell has some of the best physical tools and raw talent that is available on the transfer market.

Campbell is a former five-star wide receiver recruit that was rated as a top 20 high school prospect in the nation for the 2015 cycle. He was just shy of 40 offers on an offer sheet that included big time programs such as the Michigan Wolverines, Florida Gators, Alabama, and Clemson. He ultimately landed with Florida State.

The next landing spot for Campbell is key since he needs to find a place that can maximize his skill set and ultra-high ceiling. Texas football could be a good destination for him, especially if the five-star California native athlete Bru McCoy isn’t eligible. Campbell would be a nice bridge between the departure of Lil’Jordan Humphrey and the start of McCoy’s collegiate career.
