ATLANTA, GA – SEPTEMBER 22: Tobias Oliver #8 of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets tries to regain possession of a second half fumble, along with Parker Braun #75, against Logan Rudolph #54 of the Clemson Tigers on September 22, 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo by Scott Cunningham/Getty Images) /

The only prospect on this list that is not coming out of high school for some future recruiting cycles is the former Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets All-ACC offensive guard Parker Braun. Texas football couldn’t do much better in the graduate transfer market this off-season than hauling in a commitment from Braun.

Moreover, Braun is one of the very best transfer candidates available in the NCAA Transfer Portal at this moment. There is an abundance of potent offensive linemen in the transfer portal, but nothing really as proven, capable, and experienced as Braun.

It just looks as if Braun wants to find something new for the final year of his collegiate career. He could be a huge add from the transfer portal to the Horns offensive line. A few other names to watch from the transfer portal that could be a big add to the offensive line include Jonah Jackson, R.J. Proctor (also visiting this weekend), and Drew Richmond.

Adding Braun to the starting mix along the offensive line would be very valuable to the Horns for the 2019 regular season. It would by no means fill a long-term need for second-year offensive line coach and co-offensive coordinator Herb Hand. Nonetheless, this could help some of the developing linemen get another year to adapt to the pace of play in the Big 12 with Braun in the fold.
