It seems like getting a very early jump on the recruitment of 2022 Southlake-Carroll pro-style quarterback Quinn Ewers is going to be very important for Texas football. Herman and offensive coordinator Tim Beck could have a very special prospect in the mix if the relationship continues to build with Ewers this off-season.

We still have a good long while before the 2022 recruiting cycle comes to the forefront. But, some of the nation’s top programs are already jumping into the recruitment of Ewers when he is just entering his sophomore campaign with Southlake-Carroll High School. He already holds offers from the Michigan Wolverines, Arkansas Razorbacks, and Ohio State.

This Southlake, TX, native stands at 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds and should fit the ideal frame for a pro-style quarterback. The only question whenever the Horns have interest in a pro-style quarterback is how he will fit the offensive scheme. Herman tends to benefit more from a dual-threat quarterback behind center, but Ewers does have a good amount of elusiveness and athleticism in his arsenal.

After his visit to the Forty Acres for Junior Day last weekend, Ewers seemed impressed with what he saw and experienced. He state that:  “The visit was great. I learned a lot about what they are putting into the stadium and the athletics. It should be really nice within the next few years.”

There seems to be a point of appeal for Ewers with the commitment that Herman and athletic director Chris del Conte are making with the facilities and programs for Texas.
