3. Washington Redskins

The offense for the Washington Redskins could soon become a mess if the skill position talent doesn’t improve this off-season. The Redskins were relying too heavily on veterans that won’t last very long in the NFL anymore between quarterback Alex Smith and running back Adrian Peterson.

Washington’s receiving corps doesn’t have much depth left either. The former TCU Horned Frogs standout wide receiver Josh Doctson and the speedy Jamison Crowder highlighted the receiving corps for the Redskins this past season. We could be looking at a free agent market that includes Crowder too this off-season.

A good solution for the Redskins is to try and rebuild through the 2019 NFL Draft rather quickly to at least give the offense a chance in the few years it has left under Smith. He had some injury issues in 2018, so the Redskins could even turn to the draft for help at quarterback and along the offensive line to help the pocket hold up longer.

Lil’Jordan Humphrey would give Smith a sizable target in the passing game that he could look to opposite another former Big 12 receiver in Doctson. That would be a very nice combination for the Redskins passing game heading into the future as long as Doctson can stay healthy. Building up the ground game and receiver talent are both big Redskins priorities in this draft.
