Texas Football: 3 most important 2020 February offers
The March haul on the recruiting trail for the Texas football program could be just as fruitful as February if some of the recent offers come through.
For what seems like a few months now, something special was building up for the Texas football program on the recruiting trail. The 2018 and 2019 Texas football recruiting classes are both set to have massive impacts for this program. The 2018 recruiting class already helped Texas football rise to prominence in these players’ first year on the Forty Acres. This standout group of 2018 signees led the Texas Longhorns football program to its first double-digit win season since 2009.
Now, head Texas football coach Tom Herman gets the opportunity to shift his attention to the 2020 recruiting cycle, which is already off to a strong start. Early in the 2019 off-season the Horns own a top 15 ranked 2020 recruiting class in the nation and the second best in the Big 12 per 247Sports Team Composite Rankings.
A big haul from a weekend in February during Junior Day helped this Texas recruiting class really get off and running for the 2020 cycle. That allowed Herman and the Horns to bring in the third offensive line commit for the 2020 class and an ultra-elusive four-star athlete with St. Louis, MO, native Mookie Cooper.
There are still a handful of positional needs for the Horns to fill in the 2020 recruiting class. As we start to move through some of the more significant off-season recruiting events, we will get more exposure for some of the top prospects and more potential commitments.
Here’s a look at the three most important prospects for the 2020 recruiting cycle that received offers from the Texas football program during the month of February.
