Despite all the excitement surrounding the Texas football program at the outset of spring camp, there are some big questions to answer.

There are a ton of areas this Texas football program could improve in general, but there’s also a lot to be excited about. Texas football should be on the cusp of a consistent level of contention in the Big 12 year in and year out. Piecing the puzzle together in spring ball always gives the idea that some of these reps can make a huge impact on the early enrollees and younger players in general.

However, all of the youth and inexperience present on the Forty Acres does create some uncertainty as to what’s to come this fall. The offense should have less question marks all-around than the defensive side of the ball. But, head Texas football coach Tom Herman has a lot to replace in the way of departed senior starters.

What the Texas football program needs to be very good at this off-season is giving the right set of players, especially for some of the newer faces among the starters, the proper amount of reps to get them ready. Distributing the second team reps around with some early enrollees and rising redshirt freshmen that have a lot of talent matters a ton.

And, we’re getting some valuable information to figure out where the roster is at from head Texas football coach Tom Herman during the early press conferences. This is a very entertaining time of year for where Texas is at coming out of the 2018 campaign, but not all is smiles and rainbows for the football program for spring.

Here’s a look into the five biggest question marks that the Texas Longhorns football program has to start answering through spring camp.
