There will always be recruiting ranking adjustments as long as this whole world in college football is followed so closely year in and year out. In the world of the Texas football program, the recruiting battle never stops either. Head Texas football coach Tom Herman has to constantly be on recruiting, especially during spring camp, to stave off the competition.
However, the 2020 Texas football recruiting class is trying to build up now to the degree it was at for the past two cycles. A recent decommitment combined with a quiet period on this front slowed down the momentum this program had on the recruiting trail after National Signing Day 2019.
Spring camp is an opportunity for this program to pick back up some of that momentum on the recruiting trail. Texas football had a multitude of high profile visitors during the first week of spring practice, including five-star cornerback Kelee Ringo. But, that doesn’t mean that the coaching staff is shy of putting in a huge effort on the recruiting trail through the rest of the off-season.
Texas football is close to slipping out of the top 20 in the national class rankings for the 2020 cycle. According to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, the 2020 recruiting class for the Horns ranks at No. 19. It should grow quite a bit in the national class rankings in the coming months.
