A host of key targets for the 2020 Texas football recruiting class are narrowing down their finalists while spring camps are going around the country.

As far as the recruiting trail goes for the Texas football program, it couldn’t be much quieter as it has been of late. Texas football had a big haul after its Junior Day in the middle of February. The only thing that happened since then was a consequential dealing for that 2020 recruiting class, with the decommitment of four-star St. Louis, MO, athlete Mookie Cooper.

However, something that is also important to follow as it pertains to the 2020 Texas football recruiting class is key targets that are starting to narrow down their commitment decisions. This is the time of year that some key announcements could start coming through with spring camp and spring football games looming. All in all, this is an intriguing time on the recruiting trail.

And despite the recent decommitment, the coaching staff for the Texas football program is doing a great job in getting top tier talent on the recruiting trail onto the Forty Acres. The highlight of the recent visits came from five-star cornerback Kelee Ringo, who was on the Forty Acres for nearly an entire week.

The coaching staff also did a great job in rounding out the 2019 signing class to fill some key positional and depth needs. Texas landed the likes of former Iowa Western C.C. three-star offensive tackle Willie Tyler and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets grad transfer guard Parker Braun within the past two months.

We’ll soon see who else emerges as favorite targets to land with the 2020 Texas football recruiting class when it’s all said and done.

Here’s a deeper look into three of the more recent important finalist announcements for top tier targets on the recruiting trail for the Texas Longhorns football program.
