Texas Football: Charles Omenihu Twitter beef vs. Cody Ford, OU
The seemingly endless Twitter beef between the Texas football program and the rival Oklahoma Sooners and Texas A&M Aggies continued with Charles Omenihu.
Lately, some of the more prominent names out of the Texas football program got involved in some social media action that is contrary to progress for the current team on the field in spring camp. That is not a completely valid statement for this case, though, with former starting Texas football defensive end Charles Omenihu.
This Twitter beef was not by any means started by the former Texas football Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year Omenihu. Bleacher Report’s NFL Draft expert Matt Miller started the whole ordeal on Twitter when he posted a link on his timeline to his most recent episode of his podcast “Stick to Football”.
However, in that episode of his podcast, Miller interviewed a former Oklahoma Sooners All-Big 12 offensive lineman Cody Ford in playing a word association game. Apparently Ford associated the word “Texas” with “sucks” and the name “Charles Omenihu” with “average”. That is a pretty low ball shot even for a rival of the Texas Longhorns football program like Ford.
However, this is just the type of thing that can happen during this NFL Draft process between two rivals that met out on the field for the past few years. Omenihu also currently owns the Red River Showdown hat officially after knocking off Oklahoma last October at the Texas State Fairgrounds.
And, Omenihu clapped back with Ford pretty fast with a quick whitted response of his own. He got involved on the chain of Tweets involving a ton of fans of the Longhorns and Sooners started by Miller pretty quick.

All in all, this spat between Omenihu and Ford won’t do much for either through the NFL Draft process. Miller is a big name in the world of the national media outlets covering the draft, but teams shouldn’t care about what former rivals think about each other.
Maybe Ford and Omenihu will meet on the field at the next level this year after their careers with Texas football and Oklahoma respectively are finished. Both could be day one starters with how much talent and experience that each brings to the table for this draft next month.
The Draft Network ranks Omenihu as the No. 37 overall prospect for this 2019 NFL Draft class. Meanwhile, that same big board has Ford ranked as the No. 16 prospect in this class. Both could be first round picks in this draft when it’s all said and done.
