2. Anthony Cook

Position: Cornerback

Much like the situation stands right now for Ehlinger, rising sophomore cornerback Anthony Cook shouldn’t be out for too long. It was just a significant note to follow that Cook was held out of action lately during spring drills and on Saturday’s scrimmage. He should be expected back for the April 13 spring football game.

The aforementioned importance to the secondary of rebuilding things for a tough road ahead this fall had a blockade last weekend by missing four potential starters all at once. Cook could be the primary cornerback for the Horns this season alongside fellow second-year former four-star 2018 signee Jalen Green.

Versatile rising sophomore D’shawn Jamison actually ran with the first-team cornerbacks in the spring scrimmage last weekend alongside Green. Jamison could get more looks at cornerback since he played there a bit in high school and certainly has the speed, agility, and ball skills required to compete at the position.

Jamison and redshirt sophomore Kobe Boyce could be the two corners to watch this year, especially if injuries issues grab hold on the starting roles for Green and/or Cook. There’s also no guarantee that Cook and Green get the two most prominent starting cornerback roles, but those two would be ideal this season.
