5. Texas pulls two commits from the weekend

One of the big parts of the entire weekend for this spring football game for the Texas football program is the length to which the coaching staff is going to impress current recruiting targets. There is a lengthy list of big time recruiting prospects for the 2020 and 2021 recruiting cycles for the Horns that could come away from a positive impression from the weekend.

There are even two recruits from the 2022 cycle that will be on campus this weekend to watch the current Horns take part in the Orange-White Game. The Forty Acres will be chalked full of potent talent that head Texas football coach Tom Herman will be trying to win over for future recruiting classes.

Something needs to give soon for the Horns on the recruiting trail. The 2020 Texas football recruiting class isn’t up to par yet. If Texas falls too far behind the competition among the blue bloods in this region of the country, it could be very difficult to recover come the fall. These are the types of weekends where the Horns have to give their best impression.

A few of the more notable names that will be on the Forty Acres to watch this spring football game on April 13 includes four-star 2020 offensive tackle Chad Lindberg, five-star 2021 offensive tackle Tommy Brockermeyer, and four-star 2020 edge rusher Prince Dorbah. Coming out of the weekend with some positive results on the recruiting trail would be huge.
