Studs:

Quay Davis, 2021 WR

The 2021 Texas football recruiting class is hoping to continue to win over the interests of rising talent and four-star top 100 wide receiver Quaydarius Davis. Any key target for the Longhorns that matches the talent level of Davis is worth watching whenever possible.

Davis stood out on this day, and took Team Grind all the way to the championship game at the True Buzz Recruiting Tournament. He showed great quickness in intermediate routes and rarely looked over-matched by an opposing defensive back.

Deion Smith, 2021 WR

We’re really going to hit on the wide receivers that stood out in the True Buzz Recruiting Tournament among the two championship squads here. Four-star Jackson, MS, native 2021 wide receiver Deion Smith was one of the more highly touted prospects at his position in this event.

Smith took the Devoted Dreamers Sports squad all the way through bracket play into the championship game against Davis and Team Grind. Devoted Dreamers ultimately fell short, but the Mississippi State Bulldogs commit Smith was head and shoulders above the competition.

Duds:

Ken Seals, 2020 QB

We’ve talked a lot about the underrated three-star Vanderbilt Commodores three-star pro-style quarterback commit Ken Seals since the start of the off-season. He’s a solid and mature talent at quarterback, but he didn’t have his best showing for the hometown squad True Buzz, who didn’t make it far in bracket play.

Surprises:

Entire All-En and Fast Houston teams

At this point of 7v7 football for this 2019 off-season, we should be used to Fast Houston and All-EN running the show in these tournaments. Yet, Fast Houston didn’t notch a single significant win on the day outside of knocking off All-EN twice. All-EN didn’t get a single win in the tournament either.
