Who could be the next commitment for the 2020 Texas football recruiting class in line, or the first for the 2021 class for the rest of the off-season?
On the recruiting trail, the Texas football program has a lot going on just after the conclusion of spring camp and the Orange-White Game. The 2020 or 2021 Texas football recruiting class didn’t get any immediate help in terms of commitments out of the weekend of the spring football game. That spring game occurred last weekend, specifically on April 13.
Since then, Texas football actually had a few big announcements from key targets on the recruiting trail for the 2020 and 2021 classes. Those Texas football recruiting classes could start falling behind in the Big 12 recruiting rankings if nothing comes around soon in terms of big commitments.
Texas football didn’t land any big pledges either at the spring football game. Something was needed at some point during spring ball considering all of the crucial recruiting visits that head Texas football coach Tom Herman hosted during drills, scrimmages, and the Orange-White Game.
If only the Longhorns didn’t have to deal with the decommitment of four-star talented athlete Mookie Cooper that happened a few months back. The commitment of Cooper put Texas football among the nation’s top 15 recruiting classes for the 2020 cycle. Losing him puts the Longhorns on the brink of being on the outside looking in for the nation’s top 20 2020 classes.
