We’re digging back a bit deeper to find any insight into the commitment decision of four-star rising edge rusher Prince Dorbah for the coming months. Dorbah is definitely a more potent talent that his No. 230 ranking among all 2020 high school prospects in the nation would indicate. He’s also slotted as the No. 15 outside linebacker.

It’s hard to tell where Texas would place Dorbah if he was to land with the Longhorns. The B-Linebacker spot does suit him well, but he still has one year left at Highland Park High School in Dallas, TX, to develop. In the meantime, he will try to narrow down his final landing spot among his top five he announced last month.

Dorbah was on the Forty Acres to visit for the Orange-White Game last weekend. He was one of the more immediate priorities for the coaching staff since he could make his commitment announcement any day at this point. It does seem like he’s wanting to wait a bit closer to the Early Signing Period to announce and ink his National Letter of Intent.

The Early Signing Period is still a long ways out, but the Longhorns need to start planting seeds to a pivotal time that is to come in December 2019. Considering all that could be happening for Texas at that point of the calendar year with the rise of the program, putting the scenario in place to sign Dorbah could be a great cap to the coming regular season.
