Where will each of the former Texas Longhorns football players be selected in the final days of the 2019 NFL Draft this weekend?

If the Texas Longhorns football program continues its rise to national prominence, the talent it will churn out to the next level and on into the NFL Draft will correlate. For the past few years under current head coach Tom Herman and former head coach Charlie Strong, the Longhorns started to see less and less talent churned out to the NFL Draft.

That meant that NFL teams were able to get talented players that were former four and five-star recruits at a premium as undrafted free agents.

Yet, that time that NFL teams have to snag former Longhorn standouts as undrafted free agents that can make rosters and make an impact for a few years looks to be running out. As far as the image of the Texas football program goes, that’s actually a good thing. The Longhorns are starting to find more success on the field and thus having more day two and early day three selections in the NFL Draft.

The class that came off the Forty Acres and from the Texas football program last year for the 2018 NFL Draft ended up being pretty solid.

Teams like the Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings got steals in free agency for a few former Longhorn rookies that made an impact in some form or fashion right away. That time might run out come the 2020 NFL Draft since Herman will being to churn more of his players out to the next level.

All this doesn’t take much away from the fact that the Longhorns are on a rise that makes it more fun for the fan base to watch events like the NFL Draft. Here’s the definitive prediction of every former Longhorn actually selected in the seven rounds of the 2019 NFL Draft.
