The Auburn Tigers football program heads into the dead period of the 2019 off-season with a lot to digest before the ultra-difficult SEC West slate kicks into full gear. Once again, Auburn faces a difficult road ahead through the non-conference slate too. Auburn gets the Oregon Ducks during the non-conference slate this fall.

However, one player that is likely to be on his way out of Auburn that could also come to the Texas football program as an immediately eligible cornerback is redshirt junior Jayvaughn Myers. As a defensive back that never really got the opportunity to prove himself with Auburn, Myers could find a better home elsewhere in the Big 12.

The Longhorns need a talented and sizable cornerback like Myers that has a high ceiling as a former four-star recruit during the 2016 cycle. Myers was also once a pledge of the Florida Gators under former head coach Jim McElwain. At 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, Myers could still develop into a solid physical corner to fulfill the potential he showed when he was named an Under Armour All-America Game participant.

Myers once held himself quite the offer sheet that included elite blue bloods like the Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida State Seminoles, and USC Trojans. A few Big 12 schools that offered (or at least looked into) him included the Oklahoma Sooners and West Virginia Mountaineers. Texas could be a good fit this year.
