Texas Football: 4 best remaining transfer CB options
Among the most recent names to hit the transfer portal was the former four-star cornerback signees from the Michigan football program, redshirt sophomore Benjamin St-Juste. This Canadian cornerback that is a native of Montreal held just two offers out of high school. Those two came from Michigan and the Virginia Tech Hokies.
Yet another former four-star recruit that was offered by or committed to Michigan is available in the transfer portal. If there is one factor that all of the three aforementioned cornerback transfers have in common, it is an offer from Michigan. Granted, head coach Jim Harbaugh and defensive coordinator Don Brown don’t seem to mess around with recruiting defensive backs.
St-Juste is a more experienced option that the Longhorns would have here compared to the previous two names. He might not be immediately eligible at his next landing spot, but that could go through the NCAA appeals process. It doesn’t look like any underclassmen other than quarterbacks are getting that waiver granted, though.
And even though St-Juste did get some game action with Harbaugh and the Wolverines, it wasn’t much. He did also miss much of the 2018 campaign due to injury and contemplated retirement of late. St-Juste does have a lot of talent and was waiting for a starting spot with the Michigan secondary. If he comes onto the Forty Acres healthy and ready to go, St-Just could be a gem of a find for Texas football.
