What to look for against Florida

It’s hard to say what fans of the Texas football program, and players and coaches, should look forward to in terms of actual personnel at this point. Who is going to be each respective head coach and who will the stars be?

Could current Texas head coach Tom Herman and Florida head coach Dan Mullen still be leading each program by the time the fall arrives in the year 2030? Sure they could. But, coaching turnover can happen in the blink of an eye and it’s impact is hard to know at the moment.

However, the Longhorns are on the rise nationally right now as are the Gators. The former Mississippi State Bulldogs head coach Mullen and the former Houston Cougars head coach Herman are charted on good courses. Herman and Mullen could both be coaching respective top 10 teams nationally heading into this coming season.

The Longhorns and Gators only met three times in college football history. Texas owns the series edge with two wins and one tie. But, the last time that these two teams met was back in 1940. Texas is now the only other non-conference opponent slated for the Gators in the 2030 and 2031 seasons alongside the in-state rival Florida State Seminoles.
