Arizona State

Part of the workings of the future schedules for the Texas football program in the month of April included a home-and-home series with the Arizona State Sun Devils out of the PAC-12. Texas and Arizona State will meet in a home-and-home series during the 2032 and 2033 seasons starting in Tempe.

This will be the first time that the Longhorns and Sun Devils meet up on the gridiron since the 2007 Holiday Bowl. Yet, Texas and Arizona State do have a while to see if they are able to meet up on the field before the 2032 and 2033 campaigns in the postseason. And, who knows if the conferences are re-worked by then.

The was a host of previous rumors since the latest additions to the Big 12 that the PAC-12 could also have something to do with how this conference is configured. The PAC-12 and Big 12 were generally the two least profitable and successful conferences among the Power Five for the past eight years. Yet, the Big 12 found much more success in men’s basketball and football this past academic and athletic year.

Yet, once again we’re looking at a situation of coaches that might not be around come the beginning of the 2032 regular season. Former New York Jets head coach Herm Edwards could have a very short leash if he’s not able to find long-term success in Tempe soon. We can come back to the same point regarding Herman that we did for the Florida home-and-home series.
