Texas Basketball Recruiting: Predicting PF Jaden McDaniels landing spot
The second best uncommitted 2019 high school prospect in the nation, and the best power forward, Jaden McDaniels is a prime target for Texas basketball.
The 2019 Texas basketball recruiting class appears to be all but rounded out ahead of National Signing Day that will round out this cycle for good. But there is one more prospect that Texas basketball recruiting could be in on for a final commitment decision since this final signing period actually ended last week. That big time prospect is five-star Federal Way High School power forward Jaden McDaniels.
Texas basketball lost a multitude of highly touted prospects this recruiting cycle to competing programs like the Memphis Tigers and Kansas Jayhawks in the stretch run of this final signing period. McDaniels could be the last piece to the frontcourt puzzle that head Texas basketball coach Shaka Smart is trying to put together for his 2019 signing class.
In general, McDaniels is one of the biggest uncommitted prospects worth following for his pledge decision for the 2019 cycle. It seems like Memphis already scooped up all the other remaining uncommitted five-star high school prospects in the past two months. But Memphis hoops and head coach Penny Hardaway don’t look to be involved in the recruitment of McDaniels.
According to the Courier Journal, even Jaden McDaniels’ brother and San Diego State Aztecs NBA Draft prospect Jalen McDaniels doesn’t know when he’s going to announce his commitment. The decision has to be coming soon since even the deadline to sign financial aid papers will be here before we know it. Where could Jaden McDaniels land when it’s all said and done?
Here’s a deeper look into the definitive prediction of where the target of the Texas Longhorns basketball program and five-star big man Jaden McDaniels lands ahead of the coming college hoops season.
