Jaden McDaniels’ finalists and where Texas basketball fits?

The finalists for Jaden McDaniels for his collegiate career were announced way back in the month of January. He hasn’t even done as much as narrow his list down to two or three schools since that time. He did have a coaching visit from legendary Kentucky, and former Memphis head coach, John Calipari back in December 2018.

A recent report from the Seattle Times emerged calling out the decision from McDaniels and how he still hasn’t announced his commitment to his five finalists. The report also mentions that McDaniels could be down to two finalists for his commitment decision at this point, the Washington Huskies and San Diego State.

However, the other three finalists he had narrowed down publicly in January 2019 included Texas basketball, the UCLA Bruins, and Kentucky Wildcats. Since there’s little to no clarity as to when or who McDaniels will give his pledge to, all five finalists should still be considered in the game to land him heading into the summer.

McDaniels also has five solid finalists that all present good cases as to why he should take his talents to each program. In the case of the Longhorns, McDaniels could be a part of a very potent frontcourt with fellow five-star big man and Texas signee Will Baker. Texas is also weirdly good at sending big man talent to the NBA quickly.
