3. San Diego State Aztecs

The fact that Jaden McDaniels wouldn’t get to play with his brother, Jalen, at San Diego State could play a large role in his decision making here. San Diego State is a regional school that would keep him close to home on the west coast. But his brother is an early entrant into the 2019 NBA Draft and just got done with the NBA Combine, so that focus will be elsewhere for Jalen.

Yet, Jaden would still get the chance to prove himself against good competition but also make enough headway with his star power to potentially get the Aztecs into the NCAA Tournament. San Diego State also helped Jalen thrive enough to get a potential first round caliber draft stock built up from just one year at the helm.

The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions does give McDaniels just a seven percent chance to land with San Diego State. But that is good for third place among his finalists. That also falls in line ahead of the Texas basketball program.

What San Diego State could also have working in its favor is the roster returning for this coming regular season. Returning talent is always underrated in the world of college hoops with how important recruiting and instant impact one-and-done freshmen and transfers became the past few years. Adding Jaden McDaniels could be the final piece to the Aztecs puzzle to compete for a Mountain West Championship in 2019-20.
