If Texas football wants to add versatility along with a piece that could fill a spot at a skill position that could be around for a while, look no further than third-year former TCU Horned Frogs threat Kenedy Snell. Entering the 2019 campaign, Snell should be a redshirt sophomore.

The problem with landing Snell is that the Longhorns might only get two more years out of him. Texas would also have to wait one year for that to happen. Snell only played in one game as a true sophomore with TCU in 2018, but he would have to exhaust one year of eligibility if the NCAA doesn’t allow him to become immediately eligible elsewhere.

It would be hard to see the NCAA allowing Snell to become immediately eligible if he lands with another Big 12 program like Texas. Nonetheless, the former three-star Waxahachie, TX, native should still command interest from a team like Texas. He held prominent offers out of high school from top programs like the Michigan Wolverines and Wisconsin Badgers.

In his time with TCU, Snell managed slightly over 200 total yards from scrimmage on 37 touches and three touchdowns. He only got to play in 10 games total. And most of those 10 games he didn’t see much action in. Snell could be a sleeping giant elsewhere that could be a threat anywhere on the field for the Longhorns.

A caviat here for the Longhorns would be that Snell did already sign with Texas A&M Commerce back in February, but he could still get a release and sign with a bigger school if the right opportunity comes along.
