Sam Ehlinger of Texas football and Jalen Hurts were the biggest college counselor names at the Elite 11 in Frisco last weekend.

The college counselor lineup at the Elite 11 this weekend was truly something special considering the event was hosted in the thick of Big 12 country. This year’s edition of the Elite 11 and Opening Finals was set at the Ford Center at the Star in Frisco. That is also the official practice facility for the Dallas Cowboys. This kept everything close to home for fans of Texas football.

But this was a big weekend to see the progress of 20 of the nation’s top high school quarterbacks for the 2020 recruiting cycle. A big time commitment for the 2020 Texas football recruiting class, four-star Lake Travis dual-threat quarterback Hudson Card, was a top prospect at his position in attendance for the Elite 11.

The big names in attendance among the college counselors this weekend in Frisco were Oklahoma Sooners projected starter and former Alabama Crimson Tide graduate transfer Jalen Hurts and rising junior Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger. Hurts and Ehlinger linked up with Michigan Wolverines starter and former Ole Miss Rebels five-star recruit Shea Patterson and the Houston Cougars rising sophomore stud dual-threat D’Eriq King.

Those four college counselors are some of the biggest quarterback names in the country entering the 2019 regular season. It was fantastic exposure for these rising senior high school quarterbacks to have them at the Elite 11.

Here’s a look at the social media scenes and film that came about from Sam Ehlinger of the Texas Longhorns football program and rival quarterback Jalen Hurts, among others, taking part in throwing drills at the Elite 11.
