Shea Patterson, Michigan

Head coach Jim Harbaugh and his Michigan football program has a lot on the table on the offensive side of the ball entering the 2019 regular season. Michigan needs Patterson to pan out during his senior campaign. If Patterson does reach his All-Big Ten level ceiling most college football fans know he can reach, then Michigan could finally contend for a conference title.

However, Patterson was up and down during his throwing drills at the Elite 11. He did look good for the throws we’ve seen him make without coverage in the full-field throwing drills at end of the first day of the Elite 11. But there were instances where he missed open throws.

Of course Michigan fans aren’t going to take too much stock in the throws that Patterson made in shorts at the Elite 11. But it was good to see him show up with a host of the nation’s top 2020 high school quarterbacks. There were throws where he looked like the former five-star signee of the Ole Miss Rebels and looked like that program’s future.
