We start off the list with a player that could be controversial to include, but should still be fresh on the minds of Texas football fans that are at least 20-years-old. Former Cincinnati Bengals tight end and All-American honoree Jermaine Gresham embodies Oklahoma football, which is why he’s so easy for Texas fans to dislike.

He carried Oklahoma to a key win in Red River in 2007, just two years after the Longhorns were coming off that BCS National Championship win in the Rose Bowl. Although he wasn’t that significant in the recent memory of the Oklahoma passing game, which makes his role here that much more hateable.

Gresham even still enjoys to flash the Horns down hand gesture every once in a while. That makes him a thoroughly unlikable player to any rival, especially the Longhorns. When he’s so far past relevancy in the Red River Showdown in the sense of a player or coach, staying outspoken about your team to rivals will draw criticism.

The prototypical example of a talented Oklahoma offensive player that just carries his outspoken role too far matches what Gresham brought to the table in the minds of Longhorns fans in Red River. In reality, he didn’t play much of a role in Red River ever (except partly in 2008) outside of two touchdown catches in 2008.
