Texas Football: 10 most hated Oklahoma Sooners by Longhorns fans
If I’m talking about a player that screamed confidence from Oklahoma from well before Peterson arrived on campus in Norman, legendary Sooners tight end Keith Jackson really fits the bill. Jackson helped Oklahoma win a few Red River rivalry games over Texas football, and that’s not easy to forget.
There was a similar theme with Jackson both when he was a member of the Sooners in the mid-to-late 1980’s and early in his NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a very outspoken and confident tight end that let the opposition know how he felt.
That’s a factor that could really unseat Longhorns fans, especially when Jackson had success against them in Red River like he did on a few occasions. He also helped the Sooners win the 1986 Orange Bowl over the Penn State Nittany Lions to helped them win a national title that year.
However, Jackson is going to be that prototypical tight end, that could very well be the best at his position in Oklahoma football history, that Texas fans just aren’t going to like. Jackson was just very talented but outspoken and one that opposition would love to hate.
