Big 12 Media Days is officially here and Texas football fans can know that the coming regular season is just around the corner.

Pushing storylines for any media days for a Power Five Conference in college football seems like a bit of over analyzing. Given the star power in which Texas football is bringing with it to Big 12 Media Days along with the excitement surrounding this team for the coming season, there is actually a lot to watch for.

Big 12 Media Days featured key figureheads, and also new head coaches, such as the well-known head coaches from the Oklahoma schools and head Texas football coach Tom Herman. This was the third appearance at Big 12 Media Days for Herman as the head coach of this Texas Longhorns football program.

In his third season at the helm, Herman will be looking to take another step forward like he did during the 2017 and 2018 seasons. In his first year at the helm on the Forty Acres, Herman helped Texas football win the Texas Bowl over the Mizzou Tigers to help the fan base forget about the letdown that was the Charlie Strong-three year tenure.

Last season, Herman took even more major strides with Texas by knocking off the Georgia Bulldogs in the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day. Wrapping up last season with a New Year’s Six Bowl victory and double-digit wins will be hard to top for Herman and the Longhorns in 2019.

Here’s a look into the three overarching storylines for the Texas Longhorns football program and beyond for Big 12 Media Days on July 15 and 16.
