5. The best news for Texas football can be no news

Injury news was more frequent for Texas football throughout summer workouts and Big 12 Media Days last year than it was this year. Herman gave the only real injury update for current Longhorns, outside of incoming freshman running back Derrian Brown, as the second-year wide receiver Al’Vonte Woodard.

Beyond Woodard, it should be business as usual for the Longhorns heading into this coming regular season. Fall camp does bring out more intensity than most of spring ball and summer workouts, but I can hope that the health holds up better than it did for the Longhorns last year.

It was also good to see Herman bring positive news to the table for the Longhorns. Brown looks to be ready to enroll this fall and could be ready for playing time come the 2020 regular season. Woodard should also be ready to add more receiver depth for Texas by the start of the 2019 regular season against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.

There also wasn’t much other news that Herman or Ehlinger (or any other Longhorns representing at Big 12 Media Days) that was fresh or came out of nowhere. That can happen and take various fan bases off guard at media days for different conferences, especially with the big names like Texas had out there. That didn’t happen this year, though.
