As the only player that ever came out of either EMCC or ICC to actually play for the Texas football program that was recruited in the past five full cycles, former offensive tackle Brandon Hodges had an interesting collegiate journey. Hodges played with EMCC through the end of the 2013 JUCO season before he signed with Texas and former head coach Charlie Strong.

Hodges actually also played for both the Longhorns at Pittsburgh Panthers throughout his collegiate career. In the final season he spent with Texas, Hodges did get nine starts and was a key cog among the starting offensive linemen.

The 6-foot-4 and 320 pound lineman had a lot of talent that he brought to the Forty Acres, but it never stuck. Hodges did have the potential to become an All-Big 12 offensive lineman with the Longhorns, but the path never cleared for him to reach that level of performance on the field.

Coming out of EMCC, Hodges ranked as a top 40 2014 JUCO prospect in the nation and the No. 7 offensive tackle. Outside of Texas, notable schools on his offer sheet out of EMCC included the Mizzou Tigers, Louisville Cardinals, Mississippi State Bulldogs, and Oklahoma State Cowboys.
