Georgia nabbed a big time commitment that could make a potential immediate impact coming out of ICC this coming season with the former No. 1 overall JUCO prospect in the nation with four-star outside linebacker Jermaine Johnson.

Last season with ICC, Johnson was a stud that helped to anchor the Pirates defensive line. The entirety of the front seven just played better when Johnson was on the field. But after he committed to Georgia, it appeared that more of the focus for Johnson was staying healthy and translating his skill set to playing in the SEC.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it prevented college football fans from seeing what his true potential was with ICC. The 6-foot-6 and 250 pound edge rusher should be a stud for Georgia head coach Kirby Smart.

The offer sheet for Johnson coming out of ICC was about as good as it gets for a JUCO transfer. His best offers came from the Oregon Ducks, Miami Hurricanes, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Oklahoma Sooners, Texas A&M Aggies, USC Trojans, Texas, and Georgia.
