The recruitment process seemed like it might never end for the former ICC and Florida State Seminoles quarterback Malik Henry. Coming out of Long Beach Poly High School in 2016, Henry did hold an offer from the Texas football program along with Auburn, Nebraska, Notre Dame, and USC.

Back during the 2016 recruiting cycle, Henry looked to take his talents to Florida State where he could eventually win the starting job. At least that was the original plan. Henry wound up going from the Elite 11 Finals champion and one of the most highly-touted 2016 pro-style quarterbacks in the nation to getting kicked out of the Florida State football program.

There were scout looks for Henry throughout his time at the JUCO ranks, but nothing stuck until he decided to walk on during spring camp with the Nevada Wolfpack in the Mountain West. The good part for Henry at Nevada is the fact that he could win the starting job right away. He surely has the talent level and the arm to get it done. The mental part of the game is where Henry might struggle.

In the most recent season of Last Chance U that was released this month, ICC brought Henry back on the scout team and he even got some playing time. But he wound up getting kicked off the team and had to get himself back into the good graces of FBS coaches nationwide.
