Texas Football: 5 best freshmen the Longhorns face in 2019
There’s a bevy of talented freshmen that Texas football will face in 2019 that the coaching staff will have to be prepared for.
The schedule ahead for Texas football in 2019 stacks up pretty tough through and through. Texas football fans should be excited for what’s ahead, though. There’s just enough nationally relevant games on tap for the fans base to be significantly excited about, but there’s little to no points where the Big 12 slate becomes a gauntlet.
At worst, Texas gets the LSU Tigers, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Oklahoma Sooners, and West Virginia Mountaineers in Morgantown over the course of five weeks. That is a difficult yet very manageable slate to open up the 2019 regular season.
Get through that with one or no losses and Texas will have a legitimate shot to be the top team in the conference standings heading into the Big 12 Championship Game. If that happens, Texas will be one win away from nabbing the program’s first ever berth in the College Football Playoff.
However, to get to that point Texas will need to take care of business against a host of talented offensive teams. Opponents like the TCU Horned Frogs, Iowa State Cyclones, and LSU bring touted defenses to the table too that have a bevy of talent and experience.
Who are some of the best freshmen that Texas will get to face in 2019? The Big 12 is loaded with young talent on the offensive side of the ball and could see a host of new faces across the board on defense.
This list does encompass true freshmen and redshirt freshmen that can play on either side of the ball.
Here’s a look into the five best freshmen that the Texas Longhorns football program is set to face during the 2019 regular season.
