1. Oklahoma Sooners

It’s hard to put the Oklahoma Sooners in any positive light like this for Texas football fans, but you have to respect what this offense brings to the table. Head coach Lincoln Riley could be the nation’s best offensive mind and most transcendent at his position in terms of what he can do on that side of the ball.

Oklahoma topped the nation in yards per game (570) and points per game (48.4) last season. It was mainly the porous Oklahoma defense that led to the downfall of that team in two losses last season. Those two losses came against two quality quarterbacks in Ehlinger of the Longhorns and Tua Tagovailoa of the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Riley and the Oklahoma offense will be bringing in former Alabama transfer quarterback Jalen Hurts to take the reigns after the reigning Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray declared early for the NFL Draft. Hurts could add a new dynamic to this electric Oklahoma offense behind the efforts of running back Kennedy Brooks and star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

With all the losses that the Longhorns endured on the defensive side of the ball, especially in the front seven, preparing to face this Sooners offense for Orlando could seem like a nearly impossible feat. Oklahoma might not have the same mite they had last season with Murray, but Hurts is still a very good starting quarterback.
