Texas Football: Longhorn City Limits brings big names for gameday
The musical lineup for Longhorn City Limits before the first three Texas football games this fall looks to be another step up from last year.
There will be a fun lineup for Texas football fans to catch on Bevo Blvd. early in the regular season outside of Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium this fall. Big time attractions and bands will create a new electric atmosphere outside the stadium and get fans ready for what promises to be an awesome regular season ahead.
In the midst of the all the changes for gameday at DKR for the Texas Longhorns football program will be a good lineup of bands for the first three games at home. Some of the big names includes notable country music artists Midland and Jack Ingram. Rock bands like the Drew Fish Band and Gin Blossoms will also be joining a fun lineup of musical acts for Longhorn City Limits this fall.
Another factor that was added to Longhorn City Limits for this coming season was a “State Fair spin” to the festivities outside the stadium. “Smokey’s Midway” will be added to the pregame festivities to connect Bevo Blvd with Longhorn City Limits. That will include games with prizes, fair-type food, and beverage spots.
These seem like great additions to Bevo Blvd and Longhorn City Limits for the 2019 campaign. Fans will stay entertained around the stadium and the pregame atmosphere will be awesome. Hopefully this will be followed up with great results on the field this fall.
Head Texas football coach Tom Herman and his squad will be first taking the field at DKR this coming season against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs on Aug. 31. That is less than three weeks away by now.
The festivities that were announced and the changes coming will first impact Longhorn City Limits and Bevo Blvd throughout the first three home games of the 2019 regular season. Midland will perform for the primetime Sep. 7 showdown against the LSU Tigers. Gin Blossoms will get the stage before the Sep. 21 Big 12 opener against the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
And to start it all off against Louisiana Tech, Jack Ingram and Jane Ellen Bryant are set to perform. There are a bunch of big names and great artist talent that will be present for Longhorn City Limits from the very start of the regular season in Austin.
This is all set to follow-up after the announcement of Bevo Blvd last season from Longhorns athletic director Chris del Conte received a raving response. Last year, Texas had musical acts like Aloe Blacc, Jimmie Vaughan, and Reckless Kelly performing.
