3. Setting Cincinnati Bengals postseason record for rushing yards

Cedric Benson broke through in the playoffs to cap the 2009 season for the Bengals in style. In a loss to the Jets in the Divisional Round of the 2009 playoffs, Benson did his due diligence to help his team win the game with 169 rushing yards and one touchdown. He also averaged more than eight yards per carry in that 24-14 loss to the Jets.

That would be the last time that Benson would see playoff action in the NFL. Even in his one season with the Packers, he wasn’t able to work his way into the playoff picture. It is tough that Benson and the Bengals had to fall short to a rookie Mark Sanchez and the Jets.

2. Helping the Bears beat the New Orleans Saints in the 2007 NFC Championship Game

By no means was the playoff performance for Benson in his only NFC Championship Game in his career a huge success statistically. Benson only managed 60 rushing yards on 24 carries. But his one touchdown helped power the Bears past the New Orleans Saints to reach the Super Bowl.

Although Benson and the Bears wound up falling short against the Indianapolis Colts by a two score margin in the Super Bowl, this was a great way for Benson to spend his third season in the NFL. This was his only Super Bowl appearance and his one rushing touchdown against the Saints helped the Bears get to that point.
